Fratelli Del Mare is Italian for ‘brothers by the sea’. This
name describes perfectly the two brothers-in-law, all of whom
are Cronulla residents, who work together and surf together.
The two Pauls as they are known to their friends, Paul Farrugia
and Paul Breheny , have worked as chefs at
some of the finest restaurants and resorts in the world. Their
restaurant features Italian cuisine with a modern Australian
twist. House specialities include eye fillet Del Mare (beef
eye fillet wrapped in prosciutto, topped with prawns, red wine,
tarragon, dill and lime butter sauce), duck rigatoni (slowly
roasted duck tossed with red wine and fresh
pecorino cheese with chilli), and vitello pane (herb crusted
veal, with rocket and parmesan, served with oven roasted tomato
sauce on lemon scented potato). The Rocket salad is very popular
with rocket, spinach, caramelised maple pear, gorgonzola cheese
and lemon. The secret to the success of this charming award-winning
venue is the owners’ passion for food and the quality of their
produce, which is prepared daily.Parties held at Fratelli Del
Mare have a fantastic atmosphere and as for a romantic dinner
for two, it would be hard to find a better setting.
